Monday Services For Miss Sarah Torreson
Funeral services for Miss Sarah Torreson were held from the chapel of the Sunset Home in Story City Monday morning at 10 o'clock, with her pastor, Rev. S. T. Nelson in charge. The Rev. E. R. Rorem spoke a few words also.
Mrs. Robert Hermanson sang two special numbers; interment was in the Story City cemetery.
Sarah Torreson was born in Illinois, Oct. 10, 1861, the daughter of Nels and Betty Swetland. She came to Iowa with her parents at an early age.
She was confirmed in the St. Petri Lutheran church of which she was a member at the time of her death. She worked for a number of years in Nevada and Marshalltown. In 1941 she entered the Sunset Home where she passed away early Friday morning, March 30, 1951.
One sister, Severine and a brother, Tom, preceded her in death. She leaves two nieces, Mrs. Perry Peterson of Ellsworth and Mrs. William Chalma of Jewell, besides great nephews and nieces.
