Funeral Services for Mrs. Jennings

Cambridge, Oct. 3 -- Funeral services for Mrs. Harvey Jennings, 55, who died at her home here Saturday, were held at the Methodist church here Monday afternoon, with Rev. Peter Jacobs of Tabor and Rev. Judson Perkins of Maxwell in charge. Burial was in the family lot in the Cambridge cemetery.Mrs. Sylvia Jennings, daughter of Richard and Emma May, was born in the Walnut Grove community, January 1, 1884 and died at her home in Cambridge on September 30, 1939, aged 55 years, 8 months and 5 days. She had been an invalid for several years.
She grew to womanhood in the Walnut Grove community and was united in marriage to Harvey Jennings, near Elkhart, Polk county, Iowa on September 13, 1900. To this union three sons were born, all of whom survive.
In 1905 she united with the Walnut Grove Methodist church and in 1923 transferred her membership to the Cambridge Methodist church where her membership has since remained. Until her illness prevented it, she was a faithful worker in both the church and Dorcas society.
Mrs. Jennings was a kind and loving wife and mother. She was very conscientious in carrying out her duties, whether in the home, the church or the community. She had been patient through all her suffering.
Surviving are her husband, three sons, Kenneth, Virgil and Guy all of Cambridge, one brother, William May of Ames, Iowa; and five grandchildren. Many other relatives an a great many friends also mourn her going.
