Mrs. Halterman, 82, dies in Collins

Mrs. Ethel Halterman, 82, of Collins who had been a patient at Story County Hospital for the past week, died there Friday afternoon. She had been in failing health for the past year.

She was born near Collins Dec. 14, 1887 daughter of Charles and Mary Dolph and lived in Story County all of her life. She was a member of the Collins Church of Christ.

She leaves sons, D. L. Halterman, Nevada; J. Everett Halterman, Peoria, Ill. and a step-son, Oral Halterman, Chicago. She also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Jay, Collins. Eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Two brothers, Olin A. Dolph of Fairbault, Minn. and Milo Dolph, San Diego, Calif. also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, who died in 1954, a brother and a sister.

Services will be held at the Collins Church of Christ at 1:30 p.m. Monday with Rev. David Shaeffer officiating and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Collins. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home until Monday morning when the body will be taken to Collins.
