Vada E. Minear
May 4, 1902, to December 16, 1994

Vada E. Minear, 92, of Maxwell, died of Parkinson's disease at Rolling Green Village, Nevada.

She was born to John and Emma (Clark) Nickell in Lucas.

In 1922, she married Roger Cordell and he preceded her in death. On July 3, 1956, she married Glen Minear in Nevada. A resident of Maxwell since the late 1950s having moved from Nevada, she had been employed at Donnelley's in Nevada and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Maxwell United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Literary Club in Maxwell and the United Methodist Women's Society. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Glen "Skinny" Minear of Maxwell; one son, George Cordell of Ames; one daughter, Doris Smith of Knoxville; two step-sons: Barry Minear of Des Moines, and Max Minear of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roger Cordell; seven brothers; three sisters and one grandchild.

Memorial services were held Monday, Dec. 19, at Cooper Funeral Home, Maxwell, with Rev. Jonathan Chadwick officiating. The body was cremated. Burial of the cremains will be in Maxwell Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either the Methodist Women's Society, the Maxwell Community Center, or the Maxwell First Responders.

Cooper Funeral Home, Maxwell was in charge of arrangements.
