Minear dies of heart attack in Maxwell
The town of Maxwell lost one of its long time residents over the weekend as Harley L. Minear died at his home early Sunday morning.
H.L. Minear was 75 when he died of a heart attack. He was a former mayor of Maxwell, a member of the volunteer fire department, a former member of the town council and had been the town barber for over 50 years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell with burial in the Maxwell Cemetery.
In honor of the former mayor, the businesses in Maxwell will be closed from 1 until 2:30 p.m., also enabling business persons to attend the funeral.
He is survived by his wife, Hester; one son, Theodore of Maxwell; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Helen) Adelford [should be Padellford] of Ames; 7 grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Flora Lang of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Maggie Freese of Sunnyside, Washington and Mrs. Eve Mullihan of Nevada; and two brothers, Clifford of St. Joseph, Missouri and Glen of Maxwell.
