Services for area deaths

CARL O. LURA

Carl O. Lura, 85, died Dec. 23 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada. he was born May 8, 1888 near Garden City to Knute and Bergetha Lura and married Clara Sather on Jan. 7, 1918.

He farmed near McCallsburg until 1965, when he moved to Nevada. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland with the Rev. Howard Lybeck officiating; burial will be in the McCallsburg Cemetery.

He is survived by one brother, Arthur Lura of Marshalltown and one sister, Mrs. Alma Vallem of Oak Park Manor, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three sisters and seven brothers. The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum Funeral Home.
