Services for area deaths

NELS OLSON

Nels Olson, age 85, died at Oak Park Manor Saturday, Dec. 8. Funeral services have been set for Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Ames with Rev. Marvin Wray of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Born May 1, 1999 at Kelley, he was a lifetime resident, farmer and carpenter of Story County. He moved to Ames in 1940 and spent his last five years at Oak Park Manor in Nevada.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Torkelson and Mrs. Mabel Woodward, both of Ames, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie in 1960 and one son, Wayne in 1945, two brothers, four sisters and one granddaughter.

He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nevada. His body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral Home from Monday afternoon until time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in his name for Parkinsonism at the Union Story Bank in Ames.
