Services for area deaths
HOMER DUEA
Homer Duea, age 85, of Spirit Lake, formerly of Roland, died Sunday evening at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 21 from Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland with Rev. Howard Lybeck officiating. The body will lie in state at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland.
Duea was born Dec. 31, 1887 in Roland to parents, Joseph and Malinda Duea and on May 1, 1913, he married Julia Woster who died Dec. 11, 1957. He had been a hersman at Roland before moving to Spirit Lake.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Herman (Geraldine) Munson of Story City; one son, Joseph Duea of Yorkville, Ill.; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, four brothers, Joe of Oelwein, Victor of Roland, Ben of Lemon Grove, California and Virgil of Lemon Grove, and three sisters, Mrs. Rosabele Eaker of LaMesa, Calif., Mrs. Faye Stout of Ames, Mrs. Cora Britson of Roland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, Betty Ann; his parents, and five brothers and sisters.
