Services given for area deaths

MRS. MAGGIE CHARLSON

Mrs. Maggie Charlson, 85, died at Story City Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon. She had been a resident of Bethany Manor in Story City for several years.

Born January 27, 1888 at Rose Grove, Ia. (near Williams), of Peter and Sarah Burke, she married Oscar Charlson in 1910.

She is survived by six sons, Orville, Mesa, Ariz., Carter, Ames, Earl, Webster City, Lyle, Barnette, Mo., Herbert, St. Ansgar, Ia. and Wilbur of Albert Lea, Mn. Also two daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Sylvia) Doolittle of Story City and Mrs. Glen (Ethel) Lenning of Radcliffe. She had 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Mable and Miss Rosella Burke, both of Minneapolis and four brothers, Melvin and Clifford Burke, both of Thompson, Ia., Martin Burke of Minnesota and Selmer Burke of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters and her husband.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with burial in the municipal cemetery there. The Rev. C. A. Gisselquist will officiate. Soderstrum-Larson funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
