DEATH

CARRIE B. ROMSEY

Mrs. Carrie B. Romsey, 87, of 1203 Kellogg Ave., in Ames died at Riverside Manor Nursing Home in Ames early Wednesday morning, Sept. 12.

A prayer service will be held Friday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1:30 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church in Ames with the Rev. James W. Asp, the Rev. O.M. Severseike and the Rev. Olaf Holen officiating. Burial will be in South St. Petri Cemetery.

Mrs. Romsey was born Nov. 7, 1885 in Hoylandsbygd, Norway. She came to the Huxley area about 1908 and to Ames in 1938 from Story City. She married John Romsey in Des Moines, Oct. 13, 1913. She belonged to the Ascension Lutheran Church.

She is survived by four sons, Joseph C., rural Ames; Milford B. of rural Story City, LaVerne G. of rural Eagle Grove and Raymond B. of Story City; two daughters, Sylvia Romsey of 1203 Kellogg in Ames, Mrs. Mildred Olson of Story City; one brother, Tom Mickkelsen from Bryne, Norway; seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Romsey was preceded in death by her husband in August of 1965, a daughter, Clare June, Oct. 16, 1929 and a son, Thomas O., killed during WWII in the Battle of the Bulge on Oct. 16, 1944; three brothers and two sisters.

The body will like in state at the Adams Funeral Home from Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. until time of service.
