HAZEL F. (Hickman) MULLEN

Hazel F. Hickman Mullen, 79, formerly of St. Anthonly, died Monday at the Marshall County Home Hospital. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Brouhards Funeral Home in Zearing and burial in Clemons.

She was born April 13, 1894 to Edward and Elizabeth Mullenix [should be Mulnix] and she was married to Hickman Cole [should be Marion George Hickman] January 4, 1915, who died in 1948.

She then married Earl Mullen in 1954 who died in 1958. She had been a nurse in Mercy Hospital and the Soldier Home Hospital in Marshalltown for 13 years. She retired 12 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Dwight, her parents, three sisters and one brother. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. La Mont Wengert of Marshalltown; two grandsons, Gary of Ames, and Dennis of Marshalltown; one granddaughter Mrs. Ron (Marsha) Shipley; seven great-grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews.
