THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 3, 1907, page 8, columns 5 & 6. "Death of W. A. Rusk. - Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Miller, of Ruthvern, Iowa, are the guests of old friend and acquaintances near Maxwell. They came here from Lexington, Ohio, where they were called by the serious illness and death of Mrs. Miller's father, W. A. Rusk, who departed this life December 4th and was buried at Lexington December 7th. The Mansfield, Ohio Daily Shield gives the following obituary: W. A. Rusk was born is Morgan county, Ohio, Dec. 27, 1824. When 9 years old, he moved to Richland county, where he lived with his parents until he reached the age of 23. Then he removed to Belmont county, where he lived 6 years, in which time he was married to Mary Ann Wiley in 1851. Returning to Richland county in 1853, he lived here up to the time of his death. There were born to this family seven sons and three daughters. All of whom are living except one son and two daughters. Those living are: John W., Austin W., Samuel A., William J., Charley C., Ross A., Rhoda B., now Mrs. Miller. Mr. Rusk was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Mansfield until he moved to Lexington, where he united with the Presbyterian church. He was a man of quiet disposition and integrity, and a man much respected in the community in which he lived. Mr. Rusk rounded out a life to a ripe old age. Realizing that the evening sun of life was setting low and with faith that will not shrink, looked forward to the time when soon he should be reunited with loved ones gone before. He lived a little more that four score years being 81 years, 11months and 7 days old when he left this earth."
