ALBERT BOWERS

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada for a former resident of Colo who died in Mary Greeley Hospital Tuesday evening.

Albert Bowers, 83, had been suffering from an extended illness for the past five years.

He was born August 11, 1889 in Colo to the parents Christ and Anna Bowers and had been a resident of Story County practically his entire life. He had served as Colo's Town marshall as well as a member of the Colo I.O.O.F. Lodge.

He is survived by one son, Erville of Ames; one daughter, Mrs. Beverly Shaw of Des Moines; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Settle of Nevada, Mrs. Nellie Shorten of Torrence, California, Mrs. Mary Postal of Des Moines and Mrs. Lloyd Veash of Ames; and four grandchildren.
