Colo Teacher for 35 Yrs. Dies Sat. At Age of 102

Mrs. Elizabeth Coleman Cannon, a teacher in the Colo Community School for 35 years, died at a State Center Nursing Home Saturday evening at the age of 102.

Death came at 6 p.m. Saturday at the home where she had been a patient for the last nine years.

Born August 22, 1864 near Davis Junction, Ill., she was the daughter of Edward and Ellen Coleman. She had lived in Story County for 97 years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colo.

Mrs. Cannon was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Cannon a number of years ago.

Funeral services will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colo Tuesday morning at 11 with Monsignor Albert Cannon of Corpus Christi, Texas celebrant of mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Nevada.

The Rosary will be retired at the Ryan Funeral Home Monday eveing at 8:30 p.m.
