DEATHS
MRS. RAY METZ
Mrs. Ray Metz, 54, sister of Arnold G. Johnson of Story City, died suddenly of spinal meningitis in the hospital at Fresno, Calif. Friday, Sept. 20.
Funeral services were held in St. Olaf Lutheran Church at Belmond, Iowa on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. with burial in the St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. Metz, the former Mildred Johnson, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Johnson of Belmond. She was born at Belmond in Wright County. She has been a resident of California for seventeen years.
Survivors are her husband, Ray, a son, Victor, who is stationed with the U.S. Navy at San Diego, Calif., a daughter, Marlene, a student nurse at a Fresno, Calif. hospital; three sisters, Georgia (Mrs. Willard Peterson) of Indianola; Gladys (Mrs. Mark Kline) of Belmond, Alma Johnson of Merced, Calif. and four brothers: Kermit, Harris and Ernest Johnson all of Belmond and Arnold G. Johnson of Story City.
Her parents and a brother, Leonard, have preceded her in death.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold G. Johnson, Robert and JoAnn of Story City attended the funeral services.
