Harriett Martin Dies At Age of 93; Rites Wed.

Mrs. Harriett Martin, 93, died at the Story County Hospital at 10:35 a.m. Sunday where she had been a patient the past four das following a stroke. Mrs. Martin had been a bad health since she suffered a stroke on her birthday in 1963.

Mrs. Martin, who has lived for some time at the Gilmore Nursing Home, was a native Kahoka, Mo. She was the daughter of Samuel and Miriam Coffen Davalt and was born October 13, 1872.

A resident of Nevada for the past ten years, she was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of the P.E.O.

Survivors include on step son, Gerald Martin of Princeton, Mo., a step daughter, Mrs. Mildred Heeter of Minneapolis, Minn., a step grandson, one brother, Roy Davalt of Denver, Colo. and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Druse of Nevada and Miss Margaret Davalt of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, a step child, and her husband, Henry who died in 1950.

Funeral services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Frank Hladky officiating. Burial will be in University Park Cemetery near Oskaloosa.
