DEATHS
Richard H. Partridge
Richard Henry Partridge, first child of Arthur L. and Maggie E. Partridge, was born Nov. 7, 1897 near Berwick, Iowa. He died Wednesday, June 1 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 24 days. he had lived his entire life in Polk County and attended Prairie Green school. As a young man he became a member of the Bondurant Christian Church. For the past 45 years he had lived south east of Maxwell and had been engaged in the cornshelling business since 1928.
On March 13, 1923 he was united in marriage to Iona Westcott of Maxwell and to this union were born two children, Ward of Maxwell and Thelma (Mrs. Wayne Nichols) of Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife, Iona, son, Ward; daughter, Thelma and nine grandchildren. Also his mother, Mrs. Maggie E. Partridge of Maxwell, five brothers, Victor of Banning, California, Morris of Casper, Wyoming, Ward of Pontiac, Michigan, Norman of Colo and Arnold of Mill Valley, Calif., five sisters, Harriett Rose of Maxwell, Edith Dickinson, Casper, Wyo., Nettie Pearson of Pontiac, Michigan, Margaret DeVilbiss, Inglewood, Calif. and Irene Grogan of Pontiac, Michigan; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, one infant brother and another brother, Herman.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, June 5, at the Farrar Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Glazier officiating. Mrs. Alice Gooden sang, "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset." She was accompanied by Mary Lou Munson at the organ. Casket bearers were Jack Norton, Guy Bailey, LeRoy Sparks, Clyde Yazel, Leo Jones and Brace Robertson. Burial was in the Peoria Cemetery.
