DEATHS

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Ettie Oswald at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon May 14 in the Grace E.U.B. Church, Story City with pastor Paul H. Beckman officiating. Mrs. Beckman was organist and Kenneth Peterson, soloist.

Burial was in the Center Cemetery southwest of Story City with Lester Barkema, Raymond Kammin, Homer Jackson, Charles Kammin, William Holm and Derral Tressler, pallbearers.

Mrs. Ettie Oswald, daughter of John and Mary Dunaway, was born at Monroe, Iowa in Jasper County on May 8, 1878. She had been in poor health the past five and a half years. She died at Story City Memorial Hospital on May 12 where she had been a patient for two years at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Joe Oswald on March 22, 1900 at Boone, Ia. They set up housekeeping on a farm west of Story City.

Those who preceded her in death were her husband, Joe; an infant daughter, three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by a son, John, of Ames; two grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters Mrs. Ben Nolan of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Lucy Clark of Mitchellville and Mrs. Ola Rexroat of Allerton; nine nieces and five nephews.
