THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, February 18, 1937, page 1, column 6. "CHARLES RANDOL - Charles Randol, son of George and Lydia Randol, was born in Iowa Center, Ia., Jan. 24, 1871, and died at his home near Maxwell, Feb. 8, 1927, aged 66 years and 14 days. In boyhood he moved to Nebraska with his parents, where he spent a number of years. In June 1891 he was united in marriage to Jessie Patterson, at Springview, Nebr. To this union were born four children, Mrs. H. E. Gibson, Vern Randol and Mrs. Harry Troup, all of Maxwell and Mrs. R. G. Thompson, of Roosevelt, Okla. In 1893 they returned to Iowa, and with the exception of three years in North Dakota, has spent the remainder of his life in this vicinity. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen for about forty years. Besides his companion and children he leaves to mourn his passing, one sister, Mrs. Mary Miller, of Cogswell, North Dakota, four grandchildren, Lenore and Gail Randol, Jolene and Maureen Troup, many other relatives and a host of other friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 2 p. m. from the Presbyterian church in charge of Rev. H. D. Robinson. The music was furnished by a male quartet, Clark and Dale John and Ross and Clair Olinger, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. H. C. Larsen, and a solo by Mrs. Ray Gooden, with Mrs. Ned Pearson at the piano. The pallbearers were Rollie Pearson, Virgil Swarm, John Osborn, Ray Gooden, Ned Pearson and Jay Harmon, with the following honorary pallbearers: S. J. Tomlinson, T. S. Byers, J. C. Oxley, Sanford Gooden, O. Osborn, Henry McWherster, Milton Boster, Victor Kulow and W. C. Rupp. Burial took place at the Peoria cemetery among three generation of his people. Card of Thanks - We wish to express our sincere appreciation and thanks for all kindly services and expressions of sympathy during our recent bereavement. Mrs. Chas. Randol, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Randol, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Troup, Gail and Lenore Randol, Maureen and Jolene Troup."
