Jonas Olson Dies At His Home; Body Is Found on Wednesday
The body of Jonas Olson was found Wednesday, Jan. 19 at his home in McCallsburg. Death occurred Jan. 17. He was 73 years of age.
Olson's body was discovered by a neighbor, Noel Tolley, of McCallsburg. Olson was presumed to have died from a heart attack. He had been under a doctor's care.
He was born in Norway in 1893. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include two half brothers, Rasmus Bjelland of Rangvold, Norway; one nephew, Ray Bjelland of LaGrand (sic); two nieces, June Bjelland of Searcy, Ark.; Mrs. Larry (Mae) Stock of Council Bluffs; one aunt, Mrs. Olina Hill of Montour.
Services will be Friday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. at the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing. The Rev. Perry Heller will officiate. Burial will be in the Stavanger Cemetery at Dunbar.
