THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, November 22, 1894, page 1. "OBITUARY - PEARSON - Aaron Pearson was born in Randolph county, North Carolina, Nov. 11, 1811, and died at the home of his son, Elias Pearson, in Washington township, Polk county, Iowa, Nov. 13, 1894, aged 83 years and 2 days. When a small boy he removed from his place of birth, with his parents to Indiana, where he grew to manhood. On the 25th day of January, 1832, he was married to Miss Huldah Hutson, by whom he was the father of four children, three of whom survive him, two sons and one daughter. In the year 1852, he removed with his family to Polk county, Iowa, and was the first man to enter land in Washington township. On March 29, 1881, Huldah, his wife, died. He was again married, March 15, 1882, to Mrs. Mary Pearson. His wife, Mary, died August 31, 1887. Being again left without a companion, he went to make his home with his son, E. M. Pearson, where he remained until his death. He had a birthright membership in the Friend's church. In 1844, he and his wife joined the M. P. church. In 1852, the M. E. church being nearest them, they gave their letters to the church. That society became extinct, and not willing to live out of church relationship, they united with the Methodist Protestant class, which was organized at Peoria, Polk county, Iowa, of which he continued to be a consistent member until death called him home to the church triumphant above. His funeral was conducted by the writer, assisted by Rev. Bunce, at the M. P. church, in Peoria, the 16th of Nov., 1894. The remains were interred in the Peoria cemetery to await the final day. C. C. BOMLEY." "CARD OF THANKS. - Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Pearson, also the other children, wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to their neighbors and friends for their sympathy and help so generously bestowed, in the sickness and death of their aged father, Aaron Pearson, and will ever endeavor to remember and be faithful to others in like circumstances."
