NEWTIE CLARENCE WEE

Funeral services for Newtie Clarence Wee were held at the Palestine Lutheran Church on Monday, April 18 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Arnold F. Hanson officiated.

Mrs. Osmond Larson and Omar Brendeland were soloists, accompanied by Mrs. Noel Larson at the organ.

Pallbearers were Lowell and Raymond Wee, Keith Wee, Le Roy Wee, Juel Richardson and Merlin Johnson. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery.

Newtie Clarence Wee, son of the late Lars and Carrie Wee, was born in Polk County on March 26, 1898. He was baptized and confirmed in the Palestine Lutheran Church. On Feb. 14, 1934, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Aletta Hauge Hill. His life was spent in the Huxley community. He was a lifetime member of the Palestine Church where he recently served as trustee and was on the building committee.

After a year of ill health, he died April 14 at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames at the age of 68 years.

He is survived by his wife Elizabth Aletta, two stepchildren, Mrs. George (Arlene) Lande of Huxley and Herbert Hill.

Six grandchildren, Gary Lande, Ames; Mrs. Ernie Wilkening of Cambridge; Dean Lande of Huxley, Pamela, Paula and Penn Hill of Elkhart, three great grandchildren, Janella and Chris Wilkening and Wanda Lande. Four sisters, Mrs. Nels (Hilda) Richardson of Ames; Mrs. Oley (Mabel) Johnson and Mrs. Tilmer (Carrie) Sydnes of Huxley, Mrs. Murlie (Mary) Lowman of Fullerton, Calif. Four brothers, Harry, Chris, Eli and Miller all of Huxley.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
