DEATH

Wendall Allen Coles was born Dec. 31, 1922, at Alden and departed this life May 25, 1973. He was the son of William M. and Etta Coles.

Wendell was a graduate of Collins High School wit the class of 1942. Other educational institutions attended were DeFry Technical Institute, Chicago, Ill., from Oct. 1947 to Sept. 1950. Mr. Coles was a member of the American Legion and served in the Army Air Force from Jan. 1943 to Jan. 1946.

His chosen field of electronics saw him working one year at Fort Wayne, Ind., one year at RCA in Des Moines and since 1953 operated a television business in Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his father, mother, Leola, two sisters, Mrs. Ruby A. Robertson, Maxwell, Mrs. Viola A. Stringham, Salt Lake City, Utah; three brothers, John O. Coles, Woodburn, Vern M. Coles, Ankeny and Alvin Coles of Maxwell and stepsister Mary Cumberlin of Marengo and stepbrothers Jack and Dick Allen of California.

Services were held at the Maxwell Christian Church, Rev. David Shaeffer officiating on Sunday, May 27 at 3 p.m. Casket bearers were Robert Kirk, Harold Ballard, Robert Bell, Dale Pyle, John Roony, Clinton Ratzlaff. Interment was at Collins Cemetery.
