Mrs. Bertha Valen was born Dec. 29, 1863, at Clinton, Ia., and died Dec. 26, 1921 at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 26 days. She was the oldest daughter of Knute and Ellen Tolbertson and was married to Hans L. Valen. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Wm. A. Craig, one son, Lew Johnson, two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Wigen of Ayrshire, Ia., Mrs. Louis Wigen of St. Paul and one brother, Will Tolbertson of Lakefield, Minn.
