THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, February 22, 1906, page 1, column 5. "Obituary - Penelope Hutson was born in Henry county, Ind., July 30, 1836, and departed this life February 19, 1906, at her home in Collins, aged sixty-nine years, six months and nineteen days. Deceased came to Iowa with her parents in 1855, locating in Peoria City, Polk county, near which place she has resided all her life. On January 9, 1859, she was united in marriage to Oliver Ozmun. To this union were born five children: Chas. W., Tillman, James L., Mrs. Lillian Shearer, and Mrs. Clara E. Warner, of Tekoa, Wash.; all of who were with her at her death except Mrs. Warner, who was unable to be present. Mrs. Ozmun was converted and united with the M. P. church in early life, in which connection she has lived a consistent christian life to the day of her death and was a member of the M. P. church at Collins. In 1865, she, with her husband and family, moved on to their farm two miles southeast of Collins, where she resided until February 19th, 1903, when her health having failed, her children deemed it advisable for her to move to Collins, where she lived with her son Charles until the day of her death. Every thing that loving children could do was done to make her last days pleasant. Deceased was preceeded** to the spirit world by her husband, Oliver Ozmun, who died August 23, 1897. She leaves to mourn her loss besides her children, two sisters and two brothers: Jane L. Swarm, of Peoria City; Mary Gibson, of Farrar; M. L. Hutson, of Peoria City and Oliver Hutson, of Rockwell City. Four sisters having preceeded** her to the spirit world, one of whom was Mrs. Lydia Randol, who died in Collins February 1, 1906. The funeral was held at the home in Collins on Wednesday at 11 o'clock, Rev. A. Q. Gharrett officiating. The interment was in the Collins cemetery by the side of her husband."
