THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, September 22, 1910, page 1. "DEATH OF INFANT -Clarence Earl, infant son of Phillip and Bertha Ozmun, was born September 12, 1910. Like a feeble flame its lamp of life flickered a brief space of time and then went out. His short career came to a sudden end on the Friday evening following birth. Four other children - two boys and two girls - grace the family circle. This is the parent's first experience in passing within the shadow cast upon their home by the pall of death. Nor sorrow compares with our sorrow for our beloved dead. But these bereaved parents need not sorrow as those who have no hope, for the One who planted this little rosebud in their home has said, "Of such is the kingdom of heaven.: Standing on the promises of God they can say with David, in this trying hour of sorrow and affliction, "I shall go to him, but he shall return to me." "Farewell sweet child thou'rt gone to rest In the bright mansions of the blest, "Mid peace and joy, And we would not call back again To this dull world of care and pain Our baby boy. Our Saviour* sent a seraph down For jewels rare to gem his crown; He chose our boy And bore away to heaven's own light The jewel of our household bright, Our darling boy. We hope that when this life is o'er, And we shall cross to yon bright shore Of peace and joy, The brightest seraph that awaits To welcome us at heaven's gates May be our boy." A short funeral service was held from the family residence at half past two o'clock in the afternoon of last Saturday, conducted by S. P. Telford, pastor of the Maxwell Christian church, after which the body was taken to the Peoria cemetery for burial. Mr. and Mrs. Ozmun have the sincere sympathy of their many friends." *editorial note - Saviour is the spelling from the paper.
