NEILIUS NELSON

Neilius Nelson, 76, rural Roland, died Thursday at Riverside Manor Nursing Home in Ames.

Born Sept. 20, 1896 west of Roland to parents Nels J. and Ellen Nelson, he married Bessie Nelson on Oct. 8, 1924, and farmed the home farm most of his life.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, with Rev. Everett Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. The body will lie in state at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.

Survivors include his wife Bessie of rural Roland, a son Blanchard Nelson of Ellsworth, three grandchildren, four sisters Mrs. Alma Pearson and Mrs. Blanche Ritchey, both of Des Moines, Mrs. Lewie Rasmussen of Jewell and Mrs. Cora Vangness of Story City; one brother, Clarentce Nelson of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
