DEATHS
Funeral services were held at Grace EUB Church in Story City at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15 for Hans O. Hanson of Story City with Pastor Paul H. Beckwith officiating. Burial was in the Gilbert Cemetery at Gilbert, Iowa.
Mrs. Darrell Doolittle, organist, accompanied Dennis Larson as he sang "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art."
Pallbearers were Arthur Nelson, James Janes, Donald F. Doolittle, Eugene Berg, Marion Ose and Gerald Bentley.
Obituary
Hans O. Hanson, son of Ole and Malena Hanson was born southwest of Story City January 1, 1893, the youngest of thirteen children. He departed this life at the Story City Memorial Hospital April 13.
On February 26, 1916, he took Hazel Gibson as his bride and they farmed southeast of Story City for 25 years. Upon their retirement they moved to Story City in January, 1965.
The deceased was a member of the Grace EUB Church except for a short time when he was a member of the Congregational Church in Blairsburg.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Hazel Virginia, who died of scarlet fever when five years old; and seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey (Edith) Rasmussen of Nevada; two sons, Clinton of Albert Lea, Minn. and Clifford of Blairsburg; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew of Story City and Edward of Storden, Minn., and three sisters, Mrs. Zena Haun of Boone, Mrs. Bessie Sinn of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Mrs. Lena Christianson of Ormsby, Minn.
