DEATHS
Ole C. Omvig
Ole C. Omvig, 81, was born in Story City to Christopher and Ingebor Omvig on January 15, 1888 and died at Dunseith, N.D. on March 8. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Pauls Lutheran Church northwest of Story City.
In 1906 he moved to Rolla, N.D. and on November 17, 1945 he was united in marriage to Pansy Sigurdson. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister and six brothers. His final surviving brother Albert C. Omvig, of Story City followed him in death three days later.
He is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Russell Wassen (Alice Marie) of Moose Lake, Minn. and Mrs. Carlton Aafedt (Joan) of Petersburg, N.D. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at the Mylo Lutheran Church at Mylo, N.D. on March 11 with Rev. E.V. Ydstie officiating. Chapel services held at the the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Story City were conducted by Rev. C. A. Gisselquist on Thursday, March 13 at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Thomas Holin, soloist, sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "In Heaven Above" accompanied by Mrs. Harold S. Olson. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Martin Teig, Selmer Endreland, James Quam, Otis Quam, Ira Thorson, Arthur Nelson and Robert Kalseim.
