DEATHS

Mrs. Bessie Sinn

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Sinn were from Adams Funeral Home, Ames, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, with Rev. Paul H. Beckman, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Story City, officiating. Mrs. Charles Fullhart, organist accompanied Charles Fullhart, soloist, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "No Disappointment in Heaven." Pallbearers were Phil Anderson, Orlin Askelson, Roy Hansen, Charles Kammin, Clare Shepard and Ray Sinn. Interment was in the cemetery at Gilbert.

Mrs. Bessie Sinn, daughter of Ole and Melinda Hanson, was born on a farm near Story City on May 16, 1880 She lived most of her life in this area and died on March 20, 1969 at Santa Ana Heights, Calif. She was united in marriage to Edd Sinn on October 9, 1901. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1943. After this she moved to California where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Smith for twenty years. The past six years were spent in a nursing home in Costa Mesa, Calif.

She was baptized and confirmed in the South St. Petri Lutheran Church southwest of Story City. Later in life she and her husband affiliated with the Gilbert Congregational Church at Gilbert and later when they made their home in Story City and after her husband's death, she transferred her membership to the Grace United Methodist Church in Story City, which she was a member until her death.

She is survived by two sons, Walter at Fairbanks, Alaska and Raymond of Maxwell; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Smith of Palm Desert, Calif.; two brothers, Andrew Hanson of Story City and Edward Hanson of Storden, Minn.; one half-sister, Mrs. Sena Haun of the Easter Star Home at Boone; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death were her husband, three brothers, three sisters, a half-brother, two half-sisters and one grandchild.
