AREA DEATHS

GEORGE W. BLOOMFIELD

George W. Bloomfield, 80, of rural Collins died Wednesday evening at the Story County Hospital, a short time after being admitted following stroke at his home.

A retired farmer who lived in Story County his entire life, he was born Oct. 2, 1892 in Story County to Thomas and Rebecca Bloomfield. He was married to Anna Hoover on June 13, 1942 in Denver, Colorado.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife Anna, a brother Harry Bloomfiled of Iowa Center and a sister Mrs. Bessie Rankin of Maxwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held from the Collins Methodist Church Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Wilton Grant officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Collins.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home until noon Saturday.
