NEWMAN OLSON

A former Story City resident, Newman O. Olson, 60, died Sunday at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient for several years.

Born to parents Nels P. and Elsie Olson on July 21, 1912 near Randall, he was a veteran of W W II.

Private services will be at 1:10 p.m. Thursday from the Soderstrum Larson Funeral home in Story City. Rev. Everett Nelson will officiate and burial will be in the Story City Cemetery.

His mother, Mrs. Elsie Olson of Story City survives along with four sisters, Mrs. Alice Sheldahl and Mrs. Myrtle Chapman, both of Story City, Mrs. Florence Ramsey of Roland and Mrs. Erma Shorten of East Moline, Ill. and one brother Junior Olson of Pontiac, Mich.

His father and one sister preceded him.

Friends and relatives may call at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral home from Wednesday until time of the service.
