DEATHS

S. RAY WATSON

Funeral services for S. Ray Watson, who died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday night, Nov. 9, at his home, were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. The Rev. E.P. Windman officiated.

Mrs. Edith Hale was organist.

Pallbearers were: Max Arrasmith, Lee Blanchard, Duncan Irish, Keith Page, Norman Post and Glen Reedholm. Honorary bearers included O.W. Bierma, Jim Cline, John Dacken, George Smalldridge, Clarence Stark and Gail Valline.

Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.

S. Ray Watson, son of Elzen and Carrie Watson, was born February 21, 1915 in DeKalb County, Tenn. He was a graduate of the Milford Consolidated school. He served in the Army Medical Corps and in the island campaigns of World War II. Following the war he opened the Ideal Barber Shop in Nevada.

He was married to Jeannette Johnson July 21, 1942 and to this union two children, Keith Watson, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Gene (Kathy) Roberts, Rt. 2, Ames, were born.

On November 21, 1966 he married Alice Keese in Unionville, Mo. They have lived in Nevada since that time.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1959.

Other survivors include his mother, Carrie Watson, Nevada; three brothers, Elmer and Kenneth of Boone, and Roberts of Nevada. Also two grandchildren.
