THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 16, 1916, page 1. "MRS. URIAS MEYERS - Mrs. Urias Meyers, who has long been a sufferer with cancer, passed away last Saturday at a hospital in LeMars, Iowa. Everything had been done to cure the dread malady, but to no avail and she was at last relieved of her suffering. Elizabeth Catherine Good was born near Peru, Indiana, May 25, 1860; died at LeMars, Iowa, March 11, 1916, aged fifty-five years, nine months and sixteen days. She moved with her parents to Decatur, Illinois, then to Dallas county, Iowa, then to Polk county, Iowa, where she was married to Urias Meyers December 24, 1879. To this union were born twelve children, three of whom preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, six daughters and three sons. The daughters are: Mrs. Gertie Bressler, of Gary, Minn.; Miss Zaletta Meyers, of Zearing; Mrs. Bertha Iola Porter, of Maxwell,; Mrs. Edna Pearl Atkinson, of Collins; Orphia Marie and Rebecca Elizabeth Meyers, of Blue Earth, Minn. The sons: Arlington Javic, Samuel Peter and Everett Lawrence Meyers, of Blue Earth, Minn. She also leaves to mourn their loss five brothers and two sisters. Her deceased children are: Ida Bell Meyers, who died in infancy, August 8, 1887 Blanche Meyers died January 25, 1894, aged two years, ten months and twenty-eight days, and Mrs. Zeretta May Mead died at Zearing, May 10, 1915, aged thirty-two years, nine months and twenty-two days. Deceased had twenty-one grandchildren. She lived a consistent Christian life having been received while quite young as a member of the Evangelical church. Her faith in God during her sickness never wavered. God answered her earnest petitions. At different times she requested her loved ones not to weep for her but to pray for her children who are to follow her. Her eyes were closed to scenes of this life while her soul delighted in God and things eternal. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." The funeral services were held at the Brethren country church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. W. McLaughlin, of Zearing, assisted by C. E. Lookingbill. The body was laid to rest in the Brethren cemetery near the church. Relatives from a distance present at the funeral, aside from the immediate family of the deceased, were: C. E. Good, Perry, Kans.; Mrs. Laura Windsor, Frederick, Okla.; Miss Ida Good, Lawton, Okla."
