"OBITUARY - Maria Young McClannahan was born November 7, 1859, near Ankeny, Polk county, Iowa, and died October 28, 1918, at her home near Mitchellville, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Nicholas McClannahan February 22, 1880. She united with the Christian church at Mitchellville about 1885, and since that time remained a faithful servant. She was a very kind and sympathetic woman, one who always shared her sympathy alike. Self denial was one of her characteristics in helping others. She leaves to mourn their loss, six brothers and three sisters. Private funeral services were held at the house Tuesday afternoon. - Mitchellville Index."
