THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 27, 1918, page _. "DAYTON MCCLANNAHAN DEAD - Dayton McClannahan passed away at his home, southeast of Maxwell, Monday of cancer of the stomach. Apparently he was seriously ill but a short time and last week was taken to Des Moines where an x-ray examination revealed the fact that he was afflicted with cancer and had but a short time to live. Returning home, the children were notified and he gradually grew weaker, passing away Monday morning about 7:30, at the age of seventy years. Funeral services were held at the Farrar M. P. Church Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. C. McCain, with interment at Farrar cemetery. Obituary will be published next week."
