THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 29, 1949, page 1. "LOTTIE B. HOSTETLER - Last rites of Mrs. Lottie Bell Hostetler,** who died Sunday at her home, 4422 S. E. 26th Ave., Portland, Ore. She was born in Maxwell, Iowa, August 12, 1875 and lived in Portland 13 years. She and her husband, the late John Henry Hostetler, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last June, he dying in July. Mrs. Hostetler was a member of the Eastern Star Peshtigo Chapter, No. 208, O. E. S., of Wisconsin, and of Capitol Hill church of Christ, Des Moines, Iowa. She is survived by two sons, Harry L. and John W. Hostetler, both of Portland; her mother, Mrs. Martha Brown, of Maxwell, Iowa; a brother, Vernon L. Bell, of Maxwell; a sister, Mrs. Alma Alder, of Marinette, Wisc.; a grandchild, Dale Hostetler, of Portland and a great grandchild, Suzette Hostetler of Portland." **Editorial note - the following two records show the spelling of the last name as Hockstetler, 1880 FEDERAL CENSUS: page 8, dwelling #70, family #72, HOCHSTETLER, John Henry and Iowa Historical Library Des Moines, Iowa; Microfilm POL reel 119, 1014487 Marriage Register; license # 10605; GROOM John E.
