J. A. Sutton Rites Held in Cambridge
Funeral services for Joseph Albert Sutton were held from the Cambridge Methodist church Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph McClellan officiating.
Two songs "No Night There" and "Sunrise Tomorrow" were sung by Lester Moore accompanied by Mrs. John Dyer at the piano.
The flower bearers were Mrs. Clara Edwards and Mrs. Cleta McHone.
The casket bearers were Dick Ballard, Harry Cairns, John Dyer, Earl Gardner, Wayne Heintz and Fred Lough.
Burial was in the Cambridge cemetery.
Obituary
Joseph Albert Sutton was born March 10, 1882 in Polk County, Iowa. He died Aug. 22, 1958 at the Ames Nursing Home, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 12 days.
He was married to Doretta Coffman Sept. 12, 1909. To this union were born two sons, Murl D. Sutton, Nevada and Levi S. Sutton, Cambridge; daughters (Evelyn) Mrs. K. H. Pierce, Ankeny, (Bessie) Mrs. A. B. Groomes of Nevada, (Pauline) Mrs. E. E. Tabor, Idllwild, Calif., (Georgia) Mrs. Kahl Sesker, Cambridge, (Marjorie) Mrs. David T. Birkestrand, Cambridge, (Maxine) Mrs. M. W. Fogle, Miami, Fla.
One sister, Mrs. C. O. McLean (Hazel) Ankeny; he also leaves 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Levi W. and Idabelle Sutton, also one brother George E. Sutton.
