Funeral Services Held at Zearing for Mrs. Robinson

Zearing, July 5 -- Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. J. B. Robinson of Zearing at the Evangelical church in charge of her pastor Rev. R. E. Kerney.Mrs. Orpha Hankins sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "We are Going Down the Valley, One by One," and "Sometime We'll Understand." Mrs. Leta Bailey accompanied at the piano. Mrs. R. E. Kerney, Mrs. Lela Madison and Mrs. Ella Brouhard arranged the beautiful flowers.
The pallbearers were Fred Thornson, Ray Keopple, Charles Kleespie, Asa Barnard, Arthur Couser and Gene Womeldorff. Interment was in the cemetery at Ames.
Mrs. Edna Pearl Robinson, the youngest daughter, and next to youngest child of John M. and Lucy L. Golly was born at Zearing, Iowa, May 6, 1891, and departed this life at her home in Zearing on June 26, 1940, at the age of 49 years, 1 month and 20 days.
On March 25, 1908 she was united in marriage with J. B. Robinson. The Robinsons have been at home in several states including Ames and Waterloo in Iowa, and have been living in Zearing during the last four years.
One child, a daughter, Lois Evelyn, was born into the Robinson home. She became the wife of Ralph Kratoska, with whom she lost her life in an auto accident in 1935.
Mrs. Robinson became a member of the Zearing Evangelical church in 1910, where she retained her membership at death. She was a member of the Willing Workers, the Gleaner Sunday school class and a teacher of the Mizpah Sunday school class. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and appreciated for her fine Christian faith and firmness. In the hour of approaching death she made full plans for the funeral service, including the choice of the text to be used. Of her it may be said, "Who being dead, yet speaketh."
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband and all her brothers and sisters. The brothers are Guy E. Golly, Zearing; John R. Golly, Zearing; Ernest Golly, Zearing, and Fred Golly, Marietta, Minn. The sisters are Mrs. Elizabeth Berry, Zearing; Mrs. Gertrude Davis, Zearing, and Mrs. C. E. Buffington, Marietta, Minn. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends from a distance in attendance at the services were: Fred Golly and Chas. Buffington, Marietta, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Davis, Moorland; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Abbas, Conrad; Miss Iona Brown, Davenport; Ray Abbas, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brown, Whitten; Mrs. Agnes Kotaska and daughter Lois, Ames.
