ANDREW J. ABRAHAMSON [should be ABRAHAMSEN]
STORY CITY--Funeral services for Andrew J. Abrahamsen were held Saturday afternoon, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace E.U.B. Church, Story City, with the pastor, W. D. Winter -- -------. The Rev. Harold T. Masted assisted. Mrs. Benjamin Anderson and Truman Quam sang and Mrs. Dorrel Doolittle served at the organ.
Burial was in Center Cemetery south and west of Story City. Casket bearers were LaVerne and Hans Dickinson, D--ne Amunson, Leslie Hoffman, Robert Pierce and Arnold Sampson.
Life Sketch
Andrew J. Abrahamson, son of Miller and Hannah Abrahamson was born at Story City on June 20, 1894. He spent the greater part of his life in the Story City community.
On April 14, 1920 he was united in marriage with Clara Amunson. The couple farmed for some years and lived in and various locales after which they moved to Story City. Mr. Abrahamson did blacksmith work for many years. He received Christian Baptism in the Lutheran faith in Jewell.
Several years ago he contracted a lung ailment which began slowly to show its effects. He died March 6, 1958 at the age of 63 years, eight months and sixteen days.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Hans who died in World War I in France on Sept. 23, 1917.
Mr. Abrahamson is survived by his wife Clara, three daughters Mrs. Charles (Marjorie) Boyles of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Sterling (Eleanor) Anderson of Story City and Mrs. Marshall (Kathryn) Mills of Omaha, Neb., six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ora [should be Orin] Dickinson of Story City.
