Bessie M. Bryan
Feb. 23, 1906, to Dec. 11, 2003

Bessie M. Bryan, 97, of Zearing, died Thursday, Dec. 11, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Zearing.

She was born Feb. 23, 1906, in Ames to Charlie M. and Cordelia D. (Burnett) Nelson. She married Louis B. Bryan on Jan. 20, 1934, in Unionville, Mo. She was a farm wife, and farmed from 1940 to 1969 at Zearing. She was a member of the Zearing Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship.

Survivors include two daughters, Louise Marie (and Ed) Brown of Windsor, Colo., and Marilyn Jane Bryan of Evans, Colo.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two brothers, Cecil Nelson of Sturgis, S.D. and Milo Nelson of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; five brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Zearing Christian Church. Burial was in the Lincoln Township Cemetery, Zearing. Memorials may be directed to Louise Brown, 1019 Indian Trail Dr., Windsor, Colo. 80550. Fredregill Funeral Home, Zearing, handled arrangements.
