MRS. ALICE ADAMS

ZEARING -- Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Adams of Zearing, Iowa, were conducted on Monday, Feb. 24, 1958, at 2:00 p. m. from the Bethel Evangelical United Brethren church in Zearing. The Rev. Darald Eller officiated at the services which were in charge of the Brouhard Funeral Home.

Mrs. I M. Jutting played the organ and at the beginning of the services played the musical selection, Dvorak's "Largo." Mrs. Jutting accompanied a male quartet composed of Eldon Crain, Dale Johnston, Paul Lundy and Glen McBride who sang two songs, "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Lea Me Gently Home, Father."

Casket bearers were: Jerald Kirk, Edward Johnson, I. S. Madison, Max McBride, Jerald Buffington and Ambrose Johnston. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Russell Perry and Mrs. Ambrose Johnston. Interment was in the Zearing cemetery.

Life Sketch

Alice Selma (Lund) Adams was born Sept. 8, 1895 at Gresham, Neb. and died at 10:15 p. m. on Feb. 20, 1958 at the age of 62 years, five months and 12 days.

When twenty-two years of age she moved with her parents to a farm northwest of York, Neb. Shortly afterward she spent several month in Cheyenne County, Neb. with her brother J. A. Lund who was engaged in farming.

On Mar. 4, 1919, she was married to Alfred Clair Adams and they established their home north of Lodge Pole, Neb. where they lived until 1943. At this time they moved to Zearing, Iowa.

To this union were born two daughters, one of whom died at birth. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Claire, her parents and one brother.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Neal Tremble of Maryville, Mo. and five grandchildren, Michael, Kimberley, Diane, Steven and Scott. Also surviving are one sister, Blanche Johnson of York, Neb., and three brothers, J. A. Lund, W. L. Lund of Zearing and George Lund of Deer Lodge, Mont., also a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

As a young girl Mrs. Adams was affiliated with the Presbyterian church of Gresham, Neb. and later with the Methodist church of Lodge Pole, Neb. She has been a member of the Evangelical Brethren church in Zearing since 1943.
