Final Rites For Lloyd Cummings Held in Collins

Funeral services for Lloyd Cummings, 69, of Colorado Springs, Colo., whose death of a coronary occurred in a Colorado Spring hospital on Jan. 12, were held from the Collins Christian church Thursday, Jan. 16. Burial was in the Colo cemetery.

Born on a farm southeast of Colo, on June 12, 1888, a son of Lloyd and Ellen Cummings, he had been a resident of Story county until ten years ago when he went to Colorado Spring.

He was married Sept. 12, 1917 to Helen Pfeiffer of Green City, Mo., who survives him. Also surviving are three brothers, Tom of Nevada, Grant of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Ronald of Cincinnati, Ohio, and one sister Mrs. Zella Ozmun of Tucson, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary and Ellen and two brothers, Charles and Harry.

He was a member of the Collins Christian church, of the Masonic Order and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Among the relatives here for the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. Grant Cummings of Colorado Springs, Colo, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cummings of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. David Ozmun of Tucson, Ariz, Mrs. A. J. Hoffman and daughter Helen of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Brouhard of Moline, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brouhard of Grand Island, Nev. and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Webster of Bettendorf, Iowa.

The pall bearers were nephews of the deceased, Donald Brouhard, William Brouhard, Bob Brouhard, Thomas Cumming, Ray Cummings, and Ed Webster.

The service was in charge of the Rev. George Adkins of Des Moines, assisted by the Rev. Martin of Collins. Music was by Mrs. Jack Stone at the piano with songs by Mrs. Kenneth Tomlinson and Mrs. Lloyd Holland. The flowers were cared for by Mrs. N. H. Brinkman, Mrs. Oscar Serbein and Minnie Rumbaugh. The service at the graveside was in charge of the Collins Masonic Lodge.
