STORY CITY--Funeral services for Carl Jacobson were held Friday afternoon, Dec. 27 at 1:00 p. m. in the Immanuel Lutheran church, Story City with the Rev. Harold T. Masted officiating.

Mrs. William Larson and Mrs. Gaylord L. Johnson sang two numbers. Pall bearers were Otis Frett, Henry Jacobson, Clifford Boe, Oscar Sunnor, Herman Olson and Ole Jacobson.

Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery.

Life Sketch

Carl Olai Jacobson, son of Ole and Kari Jacobson, was born June 20, 1881 near Rosendale and died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1957 at his home in Story City. Mr. Jacobson had been in failing health for the past two years. He had reached the age of 76 years, 6 months and 5 days.

He was confirmed in the St. Paul's Lutheran church northeast of Story City by the Rev. Baard Mikkelson.

On Jan. 28, 1925 he was united in marriage to Lizzie Olson. They spent their married life on a farm west of Story City until nine years ago when they retired and moved to Story City.

Jacobson is survived by his wife Lizzie, a daughter, Lorraine, a sister, Mrs. Bertina Frette of Story City and a half-sister, Mrs. Lena Beckley of Nevada and several nephews and nieces.
