Funeral Services Held Tuesday for Mrs. Nervig

Slater, Nov. 2 Funeral services for Mrs. Amos Nervig of near Polk City were held Tuesday afternoon. A brief prayer service was held at the home at 1:30 o'clock, and at 2 o'clock services were held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater.

Rev. P. E. Onstad had charge of the services.

The many beautiful floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. Everet Twit and Mrs. Hubert Twit.

Gifts of money to the missions in memory of Mrs. Nervig were given by relatives and friends. Rev. P. E. Onstad sang a Norwegian solo, "Den Store Hvide Flok." Two duets "Sometime We'll Understand" and "God's Tomorrow" were sung by Mrs. M. S. Heggen and Mrs. A. L. Peterson. The pall bearers were Porter Chelsvig and Roy Chelsvig of Kelley, Harvey Tesdahl, Milton Tesdal and Herman Fjelland of Huxley and Everett Twit of Slater.

Burial was made in the Bethlehem cemetery.

Carrie Tesdahl [should be spelled Tesdall] was born on a farm east of Slater Dec. 14th, 1877, and passed away at her home near Polk City, Sunday, Oct. 20th, at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 14 days. Her parents were Betsy and Ole Tesdahl [should be spelled Tesdall.] She was baptized and confirmed in the Palestine church. Her marriage to Amos O. Nervig took place Dec. 28th, 1898.

They made their home on a farm near Slater and lived in this vicinity the greater part of their married life.

Mrs. Nervig was a devoted wife and loving mother. She always took part in church work and community affairs. She is survived by her husband and six children, James, LeRoy, and Amos Jr. of near Madrid, Ole of Des Moines, Mrs. Agnes Rullestad of Cambridge and Mrs. Eleanor Applegate of near Madrid and 13 grandchildren.

Two sisters, Mrs. Ole Chelsvig of Kelley and Mrs. Charley Reinertson of Des Moines, also four brothers, Eric, Martin, Johnny and Burton Tesdahl [should be spelled Tesdall] of near Huxley, and a large number of relatives and friends.
