Ole Chelsvig, 91, Succumbs to Injuries

HUXLEY: -- Funeral services for Ole Chelsvig, 91, who died in the Mary Greeley Hospital Saturday morning at 7:38 A. M. will be held Tuesday. There will be a prayer service in the Adams Funeral Home in Ames at 1:00 P. M. and from the Bethany Lutheran Church of Kelley at 2:00 P. M. with Rev. Leo Bjorlie in charge.

Mr. Chelsvig had been hospitalized since fire of undetermined origin leveled his home near Huxley on Monday, January 9th. He was in his home alone at the time. A plumber who was installing a bathroom had left the house temporarily to thread some pipe. Upon his return he found the home in flames. With the help of neighbors the plumber, J. W. Mannschreck of Ames, pulled Chelsvig from the burning house.

Mr. Chelsvig was born in Norway in 1864. He came to the Huxley Community when he was six month of age and had been a resident of the community ever since. He retired from farming about 15 years ago.

He was married to Margaret Tesdall Feb. 28, 1895. She survives him along with two sons, Porter of Huxley and Roy of Eagle Grove; a daughter, Mrs. Henry Dobbe of Huxley; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Anderson, Huxley; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
