Final Rites Here For Anna Chapman Tuesday, Jan. 3

Final rites for Anna Hardcastle Chapman of Los Angeles, Calif., earlier day Nevada resident, were held from the Brouhard Funeral home in Nevada Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 3, with Elder T. A. Nickum of the local Seventh Day Adventist church officiating.

Burial was in the Chapman family lot in Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband and daughters. The first funeral service was held in Los Angeles, Calif. Dec. 29, 1955.

OBITUARY

Anna Hardcastle Chapman was born Aug. 7, 1857, in Spring Valley, Minn. to Thomas and Esubia Hardcastle and died in Los Angeles, Calif. Dec. 26, 1955.

In her early childhood the Hardcastle family moved to Central Iowa where Anna grew to womanhood. She was for many years a successful school teacher. She became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Nevada in 1877 where she retained her membership until the time of her death.

March 17, 1889 she was united in marriage to George Albert Chapman who preceded her in death in 1934. To this union three children were born, Julia and Ruth, who died in early childhood and George W. who resides in California.

Surviving is her son George and wife and a brother, Dan Hardcastle and family of Santa Ana, Calif., besides many of the relatives and friends. Local relatives include her sister-in-law, Mrs. Addie French and son Floyd of Nevada and a niece, Mrs. Vina Hardcastle of Ames.

Mrs. Chapman had spent one year with her son and his wife who had spent 22 years in the S. D. A. Mission field in Costa Rica, Columbia, S. A. and Mexico.
