BURTON LARSON
SLATER--Funeral services for Burton Larson, long-time Slater resident, were held at the Bethlehem Church Saturday at 1:30 p.m. His pastor, the Rev. Leo O. Bjorlie was in charge.
Mrs. Oley Thorsness soloist sang "Den Store Hvide Flak Vi Se" and "Abide With Me" accompanied by Mrs. Oliver Newman at the piano.
Casket bearers were Vinol Alleman, Tom Erickson, James Folden, Ben Hokel, Arthur Larson and John Larson. Interment was in the Palestine cemetery.
Life Sketch
Burton Larson, a son of Lewis and Anna Larson, was born on a farm near Huxley on Nov. 23, 1892. He died at the Story County Hospital in Nevada on Nov. 28 at the age of 65 years, 5 days, following two weeks of illness.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Bethlehem Church in Slater most of his life. Burton was an active member of I.O.O.F. and Rebekah Lodges in Slater for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parent, a brother, Clarence and a sister, Lilla.
He is survived by a brother, Austin of St. Paul, Minn. and a nephew, Boyd Allen of Ames and a host of other relatives and friends.
