MRS. CLARENCE LONG

COLLINS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Clarence Long were held in the Ashton Church southeast of Collins Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. John L. Alexander officiating.

Casket bearers were grandsons Forrest Long, Richard Long, Marlin Long, Ronald Long, Larry Neely and and Dannie Long. Music was furnished by Mrs. Richard Holland and Mrs. Donald Pointer who sang "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "Abide With Me" with Mrs. Hugh Fertig at the piano. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. John Kilgore and Mrs. Marcie Wear.

Interment was in the Kintz cemetery southeast of Collins.

Life Sketch

Gabrill Larue Hardenburgh, the daughter of Tipton and Roberta Hardenburgh was born at Goshen, Indiana, on July 23, 1873 and died on Oct. 27, 1957 at the age of 84 years, three months and four days. As a small child she came to Iowa with her parents and spent most of her life time in Jasper and Story Counties.

She was united in marriage with Clarence D. Long on August 22, 1900. To this union were born six children namely Eldon of Napa, Calif., Roland, Raymond and Larraine all of Collins, Bernard who died in infancy and Ruth (Mrs. Ferol Neely) who died in 1946. Mr. Long died in 1934.

At an early age Mrs. Long united with the Methodist Church.

Besides the children, surviving are 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one brother, Roy Hardenburgh of Newton and a number of other relatives and friends.
