FLORENCE I. SWARM

MAXWELL: Funeral services were held at the Maxwell Methodist church on Saturday, July 20 at 2 p. m., for Florence I. Swarm, with her pastor, Rev. George Yetter and Rev. LeRoy Sargent of Cambridge in charge.

Mrs. Alice Gooden accompanied by Miss Eleanor Mohr at the organ sang, "Abide With Me" and "Rock of Ages."

The many beautiful floral sprays were cared for and arranged by Florence Mohr and Helen Vincent.

Casket bearers were Milton Mohr, Larry Barker, Roy Miller, Emmett Scott, Nathan Vincent and Guy Robertson.

Burial was in the Peoria cemetery where graveside services were conducted by Jeptha Rebekah Lodge, of Maxwell.

Life Sketch

Florence I., daughter of George m. and Nora Blanche Chamberlain was born on Sept. 26, 1897 at State Center, Iowa and passed away at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines on Wednesday, July 17, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 21 days.

Florence attended grace and high school at Rhodes, Iowa and took nurses training at Saint Vincent Hospital in Sioux City.

She was united in marriage on Nov. 11, 1919 to Virgil V. Swarm and they had made their home the Vern Veneman farm for almost 20 years.

Throughout her long illness she was ever cheerful and was always ready to lend a helping hand and was regular attendant at church as long as her health would permit.

She was a long time member of Jeptha Rebekah Lodge of Maxwell and for many years gave the Chaplain's charge in degree work.

Surviving are her husband, Virgil V. Swarm and four brothers, Albert Chamberlain of Chicago, Ill., Glenn Chamberlain of Marion, Orville Chamberlain of Nevada, and George Chamberlain Jr. of Des Moines. Besides a host of other relatives and friends.
